URL Encoder / Decoder
Encode and decode URLs, query parameters, and special characters adhering to RFC 3986 and Form URL-encoded standards.
Input (Plain URL / Text)
Output (Percent-Encoded URL)
What is URL Percent-Encoding?
URL encoding converts characters that are not allowed in URLs (such as non-ASCII, spaces, and reserved symbols) into a percent sign followed by two hexadecimal digits (%XX).
Difference between encodeURIComponent and encodeURI
Use encodeURIComponent for query parameter values to ensure all delimiters are escaped, and encodeURI when encoding a complete URL while preserving protocol and path structure.
Space Character Handling (%20 vs +)
Standard RFC 3986 URI encoding transforms spaces into %20, whereas form submissions (application/x-www-form-urlencoded) often substitute spaces with a plus sign (+). Toggle the option above to switch between standards.
